Burger Boxes Compared: Clamshell vs Corrugated Board

Clamshell burger boxes and corrugated burger boxes side by side — nine corrugated models, coating options, and when each format wins.

Corrugated burger boxes
Burger packaging splits into two board constructions: light clamshell boxes and structured corrugated boxes. The choice depends on what the box has to survive — a short counter stay or a delivery ride with fries on top. BECOPACK supplies both, including nine corrugated burger box models with coating options matched to the application. Specifications are indicative and subject to final written confirmation.

The two constructions

  • Clamshell boxes (BC-BURGER, BC-MB): single-wall paperboard, 280 to 700 ml — lighter, lower cost, right for counter service and short delivery distances.
  • Corrugated burger boxes (HBC series): corrugated paperboard with PE or PP coating options — more structure and insulation for burgers, snacks and takeaway meals that travel.

The corrugated model ladder

The HBC series runs from a 105 mm compact box to a 290 mm format:

Two dimensions matter most: the footprint must fit the burger and its sides, and the height must clear the finished burger without crushing the crown.

Choose by travel distance

Short counter service tolerates the light clamshell. Delivery stacks weight and moisture on the box — that is where corrugated structure and a coating option earn their cost. Coating options depend on the application, so confirm the coating, printing and final dimensions against the approved sample before ordering. See the full burger and meal box range.
